Compassion is an act of letting go. When you let go of all expectations and hurts you will be able to release from what it is that you believe is holding you in pain. Pain always comes from your holding on to what is illusion in your life. Those belief that keep you in a small place, in a small world, in a small mind. When you can let go of the need for the pain you will begin to understand that the only true parts of yourself are those that are filled with love and compassion. Compassion is the act of embracing all others, as yourself, with complete and total Love. Love without requirements, love without restrictions, love without ties or encumbrances. This is the love that you seek in your own life. Is it not clear then that all others are seeking this same degree of love? A love so filled with the God Spirit that it transforms the lover and the loved.
When you hold yourself back from expressing this great love within, you become brittle and hardened. You are cut-off from yourself and from others. Yet at the first degree of willingness to love, compassion for the self opens the spaces between the barriers of your heart and you begin to heal. You begin to remember who you are and all the greatness that you are a part of. What is it that holds you back from expressing this love and compassion? Is it not your fear. That fear that is held as a shield before you by the small self? How loudly this fearful voice shouts its needs and limitations. To shift from fear into compassion is simpler than you think. It is the simple task of listening with your heart. The voice of your heart remembers how to be compassionate. It remembers how to love without limitations. It remembers who you truly are. Why do you still hold on to what is false? Who are you protecting if not your illusions of what you think is real? Forget what you think is real in your world and allow your heart to see through the eyes of the Cosmic Christ within. Compassion will come naturally and love will be called friend.
